Ian Cathro, ex assistente tecnico del Valencia sotto Nuno Espirito Santo, è il nuovo allenatore degli Hearts of Midlothian, terzi classificati nel campionato scozzese
Comunicato Ufficiale Heart of Midlothian FC have today appointed Ian Cathro as the Club’s new Head Coach. The Dundonian has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club and will take charge of Saturday’s Ladbrokes Premiership fixture against Rangers at Ibrox. The 30-year-old moves to Tynecastle from Newcastle United, where he served as Assistant Coach. A former Head of Youth at Dundee United, Ian was responsible for developing the BOX Soccer training programme that is currently deployed across Hearts’ academy system. In 2012 he joined Portuguese Primeira Liga side Rio Ave as Assistant manager, before moving on to take on the same role at Spanish giants Valencia in 2014. In 2015 he returned to British shores to become Steve McLaren’s assistant at Newcastle United. He remained in that role after McLaren’s departure, and has worked closely with manager Rafa Benitez to rejuvenate the side in the English Championship. Hearts’ Chairwoman Ann Budge said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of Ian Cathro and are confident he is the ideal candidate to take our club forward. “He is widely regarded as one of the brightest young coaches in the game and has amassed a great deal of experience both at home and abroad. “He may only be 30 years of age but we are convinced that he has all the tools required to be a successful Head Coach.”
